Saint-Tropez, which became mythical thanks to a film starring Brigitte Bardot, fascinates as much as it repels. Some dream of strolling along in the hope of catching a glimpse of stars vacationing on the Côte d’Azur, while others shun it for its jet-set character. It’s true that during the summer the town sometimes takes on the allure of a haute couture fashion show, but you have to get past this exuberant first impression and take the time to discover the hidden face of this fishing port, which seduced painters from the late 19th century onwards with its setting, its light and the colors of its facades.
